Drafter

We currently have an opening for a Drafter who is eager to learn how to prepare plans and coordinate drawings for a broad range of engineering designs for building renovation and new building projects.   As a member of the Electrical and Fire Protection Department, you will have the opportunity to coordinate with, and learn from, the other disciplines including Mechanical, Civil and Architecture. In addition to preparing plans, you may join the design team for site visits during design and construction.  Colby Co.’s projects range in size from $50,000 to $90M in construction value for State, Federal, Industrial and Commercial clients.

Desired Traits:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Experience with Revit 
  • Associates Degree in Architectural Engineering
  • Required Years of Experience: 0 to 5 years
  • Desire to learn power distribution, control, communication, and lighting design including evaluation of existing power and control systems, communication systems, and lighting.
  • Desire to learn fire protection design including fire alarm, sprinkler systems, and mass notification systems.
  • Prior internship or work experience a plus
