  • Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Design
  • 24/7/365 Occupied Facility near an active airport runway

Colby Co. provided the study, design and construction administration of a Fire, Crash and Rescue Station to include the LEED Silver renovation of 19,400 SF and the design of a new 2,550 SF addition. Colby Co. was the Prime Contract holder and provided the architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, fire protection and electrical design. The improved space will house both full time Air National Guard and State personnel to provide 24-hour support to the military, civilian passenger and cargo aircraft and an ANG Fire Fighting unit.

The renovations and new work will allow the building to satisfy LEED requirements and achieve an energy reduction of 30% when compared to American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 90.1 2007 (Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings). Other sustainable design features include radiant floors, energy recovery ventilators, low-flow plumbing fixtures and a variable refrigerant flow heat recovery system.
