Colby Co. is providing the mechanical, fire protection, and electrical engineering design services which involve identifying improvements to be made at the site for functionality as a Dry Dock as well as identifying items for the Dry Dock to become a Navy certified dock for vessels.

The USS Constitution, also known as “Old Ironsides”, is the world’s oldest commissioned warship afloat. Named by President George Washington after the Constitution of the United States of America and launched in 1797, she earned her nickname “Old Ironsides” during a battle with Guerriere in the War of 1812.  Today the Constitution is used to promote the United States Navy and America’s naval heritage through educational outreach, public access and historic demonstrations, in port and underway.  The ship is open for tours throughout the year.
