Formed in 2008 in Portland, Maine, Colby Co. has served as the Prime Architect/Engineer designer for $500m+ in estimated construction costs.
From the owners
Colby Co. was founded by Sarah Emily and Calen Colby to be a multi-disciplinary firm offering architecture and mechanical, fire protection, electrical, structural and civil engineering. With 65+ employees and hundreds of projects under our belts, we offer a talented group of professionals.
Calen and Sarah Emily, along with co-owners Brian Beaulieu and Ben Townsend, are committed to Colby Co.’s goals of providing excellent service, unique opportunities for professional growth, and a respectful workplace.

Provides site permitting, utility, roadway, runway, parking and pavement design
Experienced with new and renovated buildings and heavy industrial applications
Experienced with HVAC, industrial waste heat, CHP, solar, boilers, radiant heat, dehumidification systems, airflow dispersion analysis and absorption chillers
Providing medium and low voltage electrical service; distribution systems; emergency power generation; lighting; and alternative energy designs
Performs risk analysis and designs code-compliant fire suppression, alarm, and smoke control systems
